ONE MILLION GIRLS

ONE MILLION GIRLS is a live show, and sketch comedy series created by Emily Dayton Evans and Gara Lonning.

The show seeks to disrupt the stereotypical, one-dimensional representations of LGBTQIA people and stories; and to instead create queer art that is centered in JOY! The pilot, made with an all LGBTQ cast and crew, just won BEST OF Series Fest 2023.

GREEN JUICE

Cassie, a young woman stuck living a monotonous life in Northern Maine, becomes obsessed with social media positivity influencer, Hunter. With encouragement from her otherwise apathetic boyfriend, she tries in earnest to be more like the picture perfect vision of happiness Hunter portrays. Soon she starts to see Hunter everywhere she goes. Is Cassie successfully manifesting a better life, or is she losing her grip on reality? Green Juice questions the outward image of happiness curated on social media, and asks whether or not finding happiness is really as easy a drinking a green juice.

This series won us over with its nuanced, fearless portrayal of the queer experience, led by the magnetic relationship between two undeniably fresh voices. With an impressive range of comedic material, One Million Girls invites us into its world which feels both deeply rooted and just taking off. We can’t wait to see what this team does next.
